Creepmas Ornaments
After making that Creepmas card design, I realized that Zazzle also allows you to print your design on Christmas ornaments, and I thought, YES.
I kinda like the idea of a more permanent usage of this artwork, and I can just imagine him peering out from amongst the other decorations on a Christmas tree.
Or a kid years from now, unpacking the family Christmas tree decorations, and finding this, and wondering what it means.
That's what I love about sending artwork like this out into the world.

Don't Cuddle the Krampus
Last night was kinda weird. I kept hearing noises in my house, like someone was moving around, banging doors and drawers. I got concerned enough that I actually got up and turned on all the lights just to make sure there wasn't anyone in my house.
I was disturbed until I told my roommates about it this morning, and I remembered that last night was Krampus Night. So it was just the Krampus all along! I must have been good this year, at least I didn't get a switching!
Anyway, via the excellent AEIOU... and Sometimes Why blog I discovered "Don't Cuddle the Krampus", which I absolutely must have.
When I was a kid, "My Pet Monster" was a literal big fat hairy deal, and though I never had one I was totally an 80's monster kid and loved the design and concept.
Don't Cuddle the Krampus is being funded on Kickstarter, and it will come with a naughty kid sack, and naughty kids to go in said sack.

It's krampus Night! I sure hope you all have been extra naughty this year, so that maybe the Krampus will pay you a visit tonight.

In honor of the subversive seasonal fun, my brother and I have produced this creepy Creepmas Greeting Card to help you celebrate the season!

Black Friday ~ Creepmas Medley
Well, with Thanksgiving out of the way, I suppose the Winter Holiday Season has begun in earnest. I made this strange creepy little medley a few years ago, and haven't found a use for it, so I thought maybe you folks would like to hear it. Just a little something to spook up your Creepmas!
You know, this Black Friday thing is a little strange. Everyone rushing out trying to get the best deals on Christmas presents, celebrating the birth of a man who preached against materialism, greed, and excess. There's something, I don't know, perversely Babylonian, yet distinctly American about the phenomenon. I think this track is the perfect accompaniment!
Oh well, if you venture out shopping today, please keep it safe 'n' sane, and
remember to be most excellent to each other!
Happy Holidays

Happy Thanksgiving
Hello all, I hope everyone is having a good Thanksgiving day!
I was reading recently about a lost tradition of Thanksgiving: Apparently, back in the day turkey and cranberries took a backseat to the mighty combo of celery and olives.
I found this fascinating, because my absolute favorite Thanksgiving dish by a mile happens to be stuffed celery! An appetizer that my Uncle (actually, Great Cousin) always brought to our family Thanksgivings. I can see now how this dish must be a survivor of Thanksgiving tradition past!
So I thought I would share the recipe:
I found this fascinating, because my absolute favorite Thanksgiving dish by a mile happens to be stuffed celery! An appetizer that my Uncle (actually, Great Cousin) always brought to our family Thanksgivings. I can see now how this dish must be a survivor of Thanksgiving tradition past!
So I thought I would share the recipe:
1 Dozen celery stalks
2 cups of shredded medium or sharp cheddar cheese
2 cups of green pimento-stuffed olives
1/2 cup mayonnaise
I recommend using the best organic celery you can find, as the stalks tend to be wider and easier to stuff. If you bought your celery by the head, separate the stalks from the head at the base, soak them in cool water, and then use your fingers to rub off any dirt.
Shred your cheese, and add it to a mixing bowl. Finely chop your pimento stuffed green olives and add them to the mixing bowl. Add your mayonnaise a spoonful at a time, and gently turn the mixture until mayo lightly coats the mix.
Using a fork held prone, scoop some of the filling out of the mixing bowl, and gently pack it into the cavity of the celery stalk, starting at the wider base and working your way up the stalk. Be sure to keep a clean towel handy to clean excess filling off of your hands, or this quickly becomes slippery business.
Arrange the stuffed celeries on a plate, next to a festive Thanksgiving skull, for you guests to enjoy.
As I say, this was always my absolute favorite Thanksgiving dish. The intense flavor of sharp cheddar and tangy olive contrasts with the bitter herbal flavor of the celery, just as the creamy filling contrasts the crispness of the vegetable. The little tender white stalks in the center of the celery head are particularly delectable.
Try this out, it's delicious, nutritious (celery is one of the strongest anti-inflammatory vegetables there is, right up there with ginger), and brings back a little lost part of history to your thanksgiving table.
☠
Oh and, provided you're not laid out in a food coma, or trampled in the
Black Friday stampedes, be sure to check in tomorrow, as I have a little
treat planned for you all.

Happy Halloweiner!
I won a contest over at Holly's Horrorland, and the upshot is that I received this monster jack o' weiner for Halloween.
That's right... it's a major award.
Definitely going in the window...
...for all the neighbors to see.
Actually I had it addressed to my brother, who is a much bigger wiener aficionado than me. He was duly surprised, and I think truly appreciative.
Thanks again Holly, your blog is great, and so are you! Heh heh heh...
There's the money shot.

A Weird Way of Invoking The Spirit
I love Halloween, don't you? I knew you did, we're so alike that way.
But as much as I love Halloween, sometimes I have a hard time getting into the Halloween spirit, especially living here in the Pacific Northwest, where the climate is quite different from the coastal California autumns I grew up with, and Halloween is so often wet, cold, and rainy.
So, I was delighted to find that adding my favorite Halloween music to Grand Theft Auto Online's "self radio" and cruising the streets of sunny "Los Santos" is a perfect simulation of one of my favorite October pastimes; driving around California while enjoying some classic Halloween tunes!

How do you like my ride?
This neighborhood in South Los Santos even resembles the place where I grew up.
You can go for a stroll in famous Vinewood Cemetery. Keep an eye out for moldy celebs!
Or travel up the coast and go for a nocturnal moonlit stroll through the scenic Mt. Chiliad State Wilderness reserve. Look out for bigfoot!
You can even hunt an actual ghost if you so desire... and take a selfie. No that's not sacrilegious at all...
But best of all, with a quick visit to Vinewood Movie Masks at Vespucci Beach...
You can dress up in costume for Halloween! I opted to go as The Wolfman, but with a little creative wardrobe finagling...
...after a fashion,
Here's the trick...
Now gimme dat bag o' treats!
The mask comes in handy for situations like these.
Grand Theft Auto is a big open playground, so just run around, go wild, and howl at the moon!
Okay, it's not full, but you get the idea!
Overall I'm surprised by how nostalgic it can be, just driving around and listening to my favorite Halloween tunes.

O' Goddamn Ninkase
Sigh...
Ninkasi released a Halloween beer...
I really don't like to promote Ninkasi beer, because they're gentrifying our beautiful anarchist neighborhood, but damn it, they brew a good beer, and I could not resist trying their Halloween brew. Even if it's $9 bucks a bottle. Darn it.
Close up of the label art. It's so good. Look at dat headless horseman. He's throwing up' devil horns!
Imperial Dark Double Alt Ale, with Pumpkin and Brown Sugar. It was really rich and smooth, almost syrupy, on account of the brown sugar I guess.
But there was like no pumpkin flavor, or at least very little. Very disappointing.
I just sat in the yard and watched the autumn breezes gently caress the local flora. The gradually sere-turning leaves rattling faintly on the wind.
Followed up with a few Obsidian Stouts from Deschutes Brewery. Much more my speed (let them gentrify some other sucker's neighborhood). A tasty stout, almost an espresso flavor.
Just enjoying Fall.

Haunt 2015 ☠ The Gravedigger's Plot
Hey folks. I think this has been the craziest week of work I've ever done. Grave yard shifts from noon to 5am, transcribing actual phone calls of crazy meth cooks.
It's been an insane amount of work, and in order to keep MYSELF sane, I watch haunt videos on YouTube while I work. Man, there are some crazy creepy haunts out there guys. Super cool.
While I was working, and watching all these haunt videos I started to think about what I'd like to do for my own haunt. I think I have a good theme for this year's haunt.
Times are tough, and manual labor doesn't pay a lot, so it's actually very kind of the cemetery owners to let the caretaker have a little plot of dirt outside of his shack on which to grow some food. But, while veggies are nice, grave digging is hard work and you can't just pull meat out of the ground... can you?

Oh boy! Excitement!
We're just about to sit down and review the final edit of our feature length indpendent horror movie, "Blackbird Pie"! It has been a long hard road, but from what I've seen the finished product looks great! We caught some stellar performances from the cast, and my animation team has done some beautiful work on post production. I'm immensely proud of what we've made.
We must pick the last few nits, but then it is on to the distribution stage. Fingers crossed folks, I cannot wait to share our work with you!

Caramel Apple and Pumpkin Spice Cider!
Found these interesting drinks at the Wheeler Dealer store. Caramel Apple and Pumpkin Spice sparkling ciders. Has anyone seen them before?
Taste testing:
Caramel Apple cider tastes like... caramel, and apple, and a little alarmingly like the chemicals they use to make artificial caramel and apple flavors. Heh heh.
Pumpkin Spice tasted mainly of cinnamon. At least it wasn't too nutmeggy.
Conclusion:
A good idea, but would have been better served using natural rather than artificial flavors.

The Weirdest Haunt Ever?
Most hayride style haunts go for a conventional rural theme, I mean it is a hay ride after all.
Griffith Park in the scenic hills of north Hollywood evidently went for a hayride theme that's considerably more... unconventional. It is... dare I say it... artsy fartsy?
Rubber band slamming between sacrificial shrink wrapped babies, somber military encampments, and homicidal Trick or Treaters, this haunt provides a plethora of interesting new ideas for haunting.
Keep an eye out for the swooping bird people. A super creepy effect with interesting potential applications!

Witches of the West
Sup snitches. I've been away a long time, and considering present conditions I'm not going to have much time for blogging in the short term.
We are wrapping up post production on our independent horror flick "Blackbird Pie". Animation looks beautiful. It's been a long painful labor, but soon we will deliver a brand new cinematic creation unto the world.
I'll keep you updated on that, in the meantime, here is a wicked cartoon I just happened upon:
